[Elecraft] ELECRAFT NET: What is its FUNCTION?

Hello, all those interested in an ELECRAFT NET!

I received some very insightful posts on (1) why EQP was such a success and
(2) how to use that as a starting place to define the FUNCTION of an
ELECRAFT NET.

The respondents offered the following positive aspects of EQP

1)  A place to gather serial numbers for CC.
2)  A place to work others for WAS.
3)  A place to work other Elecrafters who are "DX" (an interesting
observation that I did not think of, but agree with!)
4) A place to work, on the air, those we have come to know through the email
reflector
5) A good excuse to get on the air

These seem to me like a great idea not only for a QSO party but also great
ideas for having a net!

They also seem to offer a good foundation for defining the function for a
net.

Before we move to the next question (the FORM for the net) .

        .. is there anything I am missing?

        ... would you partipate in a net that tried to serve these
functions?
