[Elecraft] Operating Split with the K2

In last weekends, WPX contest on 40...you have to run split to talk to some stations.  Of course everyone knows this...but here is the real question.

When I was doing this and working the stations, the LCD seemed to be a little behind when going from receive to transmit or from B to A VFO.  I suspect that the switch between the two VFOs is fast but the update to the LCD is slow because of processing power?  Is that the case?
