[Elecraft] IC Sockets

I guess I started something by asking the question
about IC sockets?

Thanks all, and I learned so much by the responses.  I
was just finishing another kit that had 3 IC sockets
in it.  All the checks went fine, put the IC's in and
nothing.  I removed a few boards to look for solder
bridges, pressed on the IC's again to make sure they
were seated and it worked?

I guess IC's can cause flakey problems sometimes, and
I caught the Elecraft Email that said don't use
sockets and they will void the warranty.  Or better
said, follow the directions and don't add or take away
as elecraft knows best!
