Happy Happy Joy Joy and Yippie too ! ! Between asking you guys and Scott at
Elecraft I'm back on course.

To re-cap, I'm at the first test on the K2 which failed. In troubleshooting
I thought U5, the 5volt regulator was bad but did not know for sure. I'm
scared of doing something wrong and blowing my K2 up I just didn't know for
sure. Well, sure as beans U5 was bad, so I got a new one and Bingo "Success"
! !

Now I'm buzzing right along, and except for the display being really dim
things are peachy. (Scott is working on that).

Thanks, and I've got to get back to it.

I was able to mess with it for a short time tonite. Going down the
troubleshooting list everything was looking good till I had to check the
5volt line. I only have 1.92v on the output of U5. Pulled the front panel
off, and still 1.92 volts. So I pulled the control board out, and just
looked both sides over for a short, nada. Also checked all IC's and they are
in correct. Checked to make sure c14 and c19 are the correct ones, they are.
And thats where I'm stopping at tonite.

Did anyone else run into this problem, or am I just lucky. Have to wait till
tomorrow evening now to carry on, but was wondering if anyone had this
problem, or any sure fire cures for the problem?
