[Elecraft] K1 on /off switch?

Gang,

My newly acquired K1 sn598 seems to have a flakey on /off switch?(maybe)
When I turn it off with the switch it takes about 6-7 punches before I can
get it to come alive again after it's been off awhile. If I kill the power
from the DC source (like pull the DC plug) most of the time it'll power back
up no problem. But no always??? So maybe it's not the switch? What's up with
that? Any clue?  Additionally everytime I punch the switch I get an audio
thump like it's going to power up But nothing else happens ...no relay
chatter or LEDs? When it finally grabs and comes on I get the relay chatter
and LEDs then I know shes ON! Any help?
