[Elecraft] KAT1 Problem - MPU

Thanks to all who responded with suggestions to my report of the dreaded =
"- - -" indication after installing a newly completed KAT1.

Symptoms were:  a fully functional K1 #1190, rev 109 firmware, Rev E RF =
board and Rev B filter board.  KAT1 was built on Rev C PCB with rev 1.20 =
firmware.

Consensus seems to be that KAT1 has a had a number of problems with its =
controller chip and there were several reports that swapping out the =
chip brought the KAT1 right up.  I will contact Gary on Monday during =
business hours to pursue.

For the record, it's a stretch, but serial numbers passed along indicate =
this may have been common with KAT1's that shipped with K1's with serial =
numbers of +/- 1100.  Mine, 1190, originally shipped on 5/3/2002.  Maybe =
something inherent in the component or in the way it was programmed.
