[Elecraft] Rig drift

The behaviour described by Earl and others must be rig specific. I
regularly check in to several SSB nets and have the frequencies stored in
memory. From a cold start I can recall the net frequency and be within
10 to 20 Hertz immediately and almost never have to touch the VFO
throughout the net sessions that can last upwards of 4 hours. About the
only time I do is if one of the check-ins is slightly off frequency and
then I use RIT. I run with the KPA100 installed and the fan kicks in to
high after longer transmissions but still no discernable drift.
On CW I have the beacon frequencies set on the B VFO for 20 - 10 meters
and all I need to do to copy the beacons is hit the B VFO and switch mode
to CW. Again no tweaking of the VFO even from a cold start.
Must be a little mojo on the charcteristics of the components for my K2
such that they compensate one another as the temp inside the rig changes.
I haven't done this with temp extremes as my operating room is pretty
constant at 75-80 deg F.
