Alan,
Get a BNC to binder post adapter (Radio Shack, though others have better =
quality) to connect your wire to the K1. Grab 85-ft of stranded hook-up w=
ire, connect that to the RED terminal. Get another 17-ft of wire and conn=
ect that to the BLACK terminal. You now have a W3EDP (ref: RSGB - Practic=
al Wire Antennas). Play with the counterpoise (17-ft wire), that is try i=
t connected and disconnected to find which works better for a given band.=
Throw the 85-ft wire out of the window and string it up into a tree or s=
omething. Run the counterpoise around the floor or baseboard. Simple and =
effective, though if you have the KAT1 installed it will tune just about =
anything (I've used my house gutter ;-). See you on the bands!
Cheers,
Colin

Just finished #1265 and wanted some recommendations on the best way to
hook up an end-fed wire antenna directly to the BNC connector. Any
suggestions?
