[Elecraft] I prefer Analog S meters

They are great to obsess over and worry about "calibrating" because
they don't mean a thing (except MAYBE for comparing one K2 to another
K2). Better that than messing around forever to get 13.12 instead of
13.10 watts out on 10 meters or trying to get the dial readout to be
within 10 Hz across the spectrum referenced to some standard 50 times
more stable than the K2 oscillators <G>.
My problem is that the AGC is usually off, so the "meter" doesn't work.
I just indicates where I have the RF Gain control set. But it makes for
exceptionally accurate signal reports from me. I can a fellow say, S-7.
Then I turn the RF gain carefully until the "meter" reads S-7 and I know
that I am exactly right!!!

Who needs no stinking S meters? Analog, digital -- they have no
particular utility to me.
Just MHO.
