I like the idea of 17m and 15m. Both of those bands are fairly quiet in my
"neighborhood" ;-)
I concur on 18.130 and 21.360.

Subject: [Elecraft] new Elecraft calling freq on 15 meters?
For some time we've suggested 28.715 MHz as a place for informal Elecraft
discussion,
QSOs, etc. But 10 meters isn't open all that often, so perhaps we should
pick something a
bit lower.
15 meters seems like a good choice. It's a great band for both nationwide
and DX contacts,
and has a very large SSB segment. (An SSB frequency is preferred since you
can call in CW
or SSB.) International traffic nets and DX "watering holes" should be
avoided, but I think
we should stay above 21.300.
Other bands are possible, too, but have some disadvantages. 12 m and 17 m
have very narrow
SSB segments, and gain antennas on these bands are less common. 20 meters
can be very
crowded, tending towards higher average power levels. A lot of K2 owners run
10 watts or less.
Of course K1 owners and CW buffs in general will find lots of Elecraft rigs
on the
standard QRP CW frequencies. There are also QRP SSB frequencies, although
these seem to
have less activity. (Out of courtesy to QRP ops, you should always use low
power on these frequencies.)
So: Any suggestions for a calling frequency on 15 meters? How about 21.360
MHz? I'll be
listening there, just in case ;)

Wayne
