Yes, that's true, and I doubt that the decoupling cap is necessary on pin
1 but, as originally stated by Pete (PE1MHO - G7ECN), oscillation in the
audio amp might cause a weak audio problem and any other
unbypassed/unconnected pins might be a factor.

I've done the "scratchy pot" mod to my K2 and that may have left other
pin(s) floating.  This is why I mentioned that.
