      At 1 foot above the speaker I read 88 dba.  I read .306 volts
across the speaker.  I was surprised at this so I read it with an ac
millivolt meter to verify it.  I switched the audio filter out of the
circuit and it made no change. =20
      Before I added the motorola speaker I ran the AF gain about 9
oclock.   Considering the size of the speaker it was about what I
expected, but It's hard to account for the great deal more volume
others find.  The phones I tried are studio monitors I use for music
recording.  The AKG's are notorious for needing a lot of drive.  I get
enough volume with the radio shack phones I use and I find these
lightweight phones are more comfortable.  The Sony phones produce
enough volume and I love them for music, where you put up with comfort
for fidelity, and the closed backs and ear seals are necessary for
recording.
