Thanks for your posting Mike...a very nice summary...in order to possibly
help tie this one down I offer further info as it pertains to my K2, which
I love byw....

             RF gain - fully CW.
             AF gain - usually around 2/3 o'clock CW.  If I run the AF
gain any further CW it doesn't make any difference.

             Serial #2032

...I must add that my hearing is roughly 15 db below "normal" hearing
levels as ascertained by a hearing aid lab frequency run.
