John,

Your question is exactly what I've been struggling with since I finished my
K2 as well. And like yours, my K2 is probably working better than I think
(or should, given I built it hi).

Thing is, I would probably never be questioning whether my K2 is 'as sharp'
as it could/should be had not I noticed a relatively frequent and consistent
dichotomy between the posts to this list of 'need more audio' (which I
identified with) and the 'something must be wrong' replies.

Now that a few have replied to my 'conclusions' concerning the audio I am
again reminded of the futility of making any statistically valid conclusions
based on small samples of subjective responses hi.
