[Elecraft] I keep burning up tips. What's wrong?

The method taught by the military and Pace soldering schools is to
heat the joint and let the solder melt on the heated joint. Personally
I modify that slightly for larger joints - place a little solder first
at the junction between the joint and the iron tip so that the solder
melts and makes a good heat transfer between the iron and the joint.
