Tony:

Welcome aboard ! I vote for 700 degrees. Some will say 800 degrees and I
certainly needed 800 deg. for the larger parts of the KPA100, but for my K1,
I used 700 degrees all the way.

Subject: [Elecraft] Soldering Iron Temp.

Hi Folks,

Well, I have my K1 kit, and a brand new soldering station, and I'm about to
begin construction....

I'm used to using any old $5 iron for my soldering, so I thought I'd ask the
dumb question:

What's the optimum temp for soldering Elecraft parts for my temp. controlled
iron?

Also, what is the suggested temp for soldering the ground wire to the xtals?

Thanks,

Tony
