When I run into that sort of situation, I control the solder with my little
and ring finger, and use my index and middle finger plus thumb of the same
hand to manage the part, leaving my other hand free for the soldering iron.

This skill set comes from using chopsticks in the Orient (and in Orienttal
restaurants) instead of knives and forks, I suppose...

PS - I just verified I can hold AND control BOTH soldering irons in ONE hand
if need be, using a variation of the chopstick technique.   And that DOES
leave one hand free for the camera... :-) LJ
