Hi
Elecraft cannot directly support or provide the information on the remote=
mounting because of FCC rules on the sale of external amplifiers. Even t=
hough the KPA100 will not work without the K2 it is best if they do not r=
aise any flags. However you can do it yourself and it's easy. Build your =
KAT100-2 and install it into the EC-2. Remove the KPA100 from the K2 and =
install the standard top (add the KIO2 if you don't already have one) The=
n plug in the RF and AUX 12 volt cable from the KPA100 into the connector=
s provided in the KAT100-2 and put in all the screws. That's all there is=
to it. You will need a BNC to BNC cable about 2 or 3 feet long, a short =
PL239 jumper cable and the 9 pin male to 9 pin male KIO2 to KPA100 interf=
ace cable to connect up everything. You will also need to power the K2 an=
d the KPA100/KAT100-2. They can be powered from the same power supply wit=
h 2 power cables connected to the power supply or you can make up a 'Y' c=
able with a small gauge wire out of the PowerPole connector to the K2' ro=
und power jack.

Hi,
I like the idea of having the PA and the AT in the EC2 enclosure. Is
there a manual/info out there that explains how to do it (the KPA100
docs don't mention it)?
Also, what should be built first? I would like to have the PA first
since the KAT is not urgently needed...
Thanks and 73,
Andreas, KU7T
