Dear Elecrafters,
Dear Readers,

I'm currently running my K2 #2206 with the options

      - KBT2 - KAT2 - KSB2 - KIO2 - K160RX - KAF2 - KNB2

(the version with least air inside, I think :-)

What I would like to do now (and some OMs in our local ham club, too) is
to build the KPA-100 and KAT-100 and combine these into the EC2 enclosure.
The idea is to keep the K2 in the above configuration for easy field use
and simply connect the "power/tuner box" to the unit at home with a piece
of coax and the control cable (to KIO2 Aux I/O). I plan to use (one of)
the normal BNC-output(s) of my K2 to feed the KPA-100 via an additional
RF-IN at the rear of the EC2 enclosure.

Would this configuration be possible? I'm not sure, if the firmware is
able to handle this setup. Critical points may be:

- two KIO2 units present the same time. Could I simply omit the second one
in the KPA-100 module ? Or could I connect the "power/tuner box" to AUX
I/O and my rig to the I/O of the second box?

- two ATUs present. I could manually deactivate the KAT-2 via the menu
(set to CAL P). How about automatic switch-off as soon as the KAT-100 is
present?

- What about the length of the control cable ? Do I need signals that
normally aren't present at AUX I/O ?

Are there any more drawbacks on this?

I think this setup could be interesting to many OM? What do You think
about this?
