Agreed.  But, if I remember correctly from my Marine Corps days, the word
is spelled FUBAR.  I have no idea what the acronym FOOBAR would stand
for.  I can't come up with words (that make sense) for the two O's.

For those of you non-military types, FUBAR means

F(igure it out yourself) U(p) B(eyond) A(ll) R(ecognition)

It is used to describe a situation that is worse than SNAFU.

IE;

"The night before I got married, my friends got me FUBAR."

and...

"At the wedding, I was so hung over that I tossed my cookies on the
bride.  It was a major SNAFU!"
