To quote and paraphrase those who replied:
better characteristics, more closely held tolerances, better matched,
more gain, improved audio quality, definitely flatter passband, less
passband ripple, calibration number usually at 3.6 to 3.7, no big drop
in signal strength when switching to a narrower bandwidth, no difference
between USB and LSB sound, huge difference, they are much better.

matched as well as the ones in the kit... Checking your filter
