Earl raises good points.  From what Tom Schiller points out from claims of
other manufacturers vs. modeling and actual testing; it is NOT possible to
get 8.81 dB i gain from a two element Yagi (I do not have his book at hand,
this is from memory).  Then the other thing is the F/B and the two element
fixed spacing not being optimum all over the 10m band for example.

My main concern is that a mechanically tuned antenna is complex and problem
prone in colder climates.  I have heard of enough problems with rotors, and
count myself lucky to be in a mild climate!
