No it isn't normal. If I turn down the filter bandwidth also a weak signal=
=20
switchs a little bit (about 10 - 20 Hz) but I don't loose it.

Check your CW filter alignment again with
- a noise source (not with birdie or atmospheric noise)
- Spectogram (or an other program like this) and
- the "K2 CW Filter Alignment Procedure Using Spectrogram" by Tom Hammond=20
N=D8SS (you can find this one on the Elecraft pages).
