Hi
You only really need 1 power supply if it can output > 20 amps. Just make=
up a powerpole cable and a round connector K2 cable and connect them bot=
h to the power supply. When the manual asks you to use the low power supp=
ly use the K2 plug and when the manual asks for the high power supply use=
the porwerpole cable. The K2 has a 3 amp reset-able fuse so it is protec=
ted in case of any shorts so the large power supply is ok for testing. At=
least that the way I have done on 4 KPA100's

Subject: [Elecraft] KPA100 assembly only one pwr supply?
Greetings:
I'm to the point of assembling the big 12V power cables for the KPA1=
00 and =20
reading ahead I see I need two power supplies shortly. Being cheap and =20
anticipating the KPA100, I only have one 12V supply - a 20-25 Amp linear =
that =20
I've been using for the K2. Any suggestions about how to go about checkin=
g out =20
the KPA100 supply? I've been considering buying a lead-acid car-type batt=
ery =20
for a backup power source.
Thanks,
John,
K7JG
