Hi
It can be done without the KIO2 but you will need to duplicate the RF byp=
assing on the AUX buss and the V RF DET lines and come up with your own c=
able and connector from the control board to a 9 pin D connector on the b=
ack of the K2. And if you have the KAT2 in the K2 then you need the littl=
e break out board so the KAT2 and the 9 pin D connector can hook up at th=
e same time. If you need to go to this much the trouble, KIO2 looks bette=
r as everything comes in the kit. =20
Maybe Elecraft would sell a stripped down KIO2 with only the parts requir=
ed to interface the KAT100 for those people wanting to buy the KAT100 to =
use while waiting until they can get the KPA100 and did not need the RS23=
2 interface.

Subject: Re: [Elecraft] KPA100 / KAT100 Question
At least 2 replies indicated that the KIO2 option is required to install =
the
KPA100 and KAT100 in an EC2 enclosure.
I am sure that either Eric or Wayne responded that this is NOT necessary.
However, it is less work to use a KIO2.
The alternative is to route the Aux Bus out of the K2 and into the EC2.

Fran
