[Elecraft] #2714 comes alive in Dallas Texas

Nope! You don't even come close to the build time record. I started on S/N
1757 on New Year's Day in 2001 and had my first QSO with it on May 22, 2002!
My theory was that I would rather spend months building it than years trying
to figure out what was wrong with it! That was a good idea, because it has
worked perfectly ever since I first powered it up. Also, the kit is so very
good that building was a pleasure in itself, and I tried to make it last!

The rig has been a joy. I have now worked 19 states and 8 countries.

I might hold the record for the longest build time, but it was a pleasure
all the way as my K2 was purchased at Ham-Com back in June. #2714 is
hearing and transmitting well and patiently waiting for me to get an antenna
back so it could have its first QSO. Hopefully this weekend.

After listening in to this reflector, I thought it time to share the news.

Now onward to the accessories.

I would be interesting in meeting with other K2 builders in the Dallas area
to compare rigs, experiences etc.
