I once attended a ham club meeting in which a Collins Radio engineer used
their enormous LPA at 100 ft with about 50 KW behind it to work every SAC
ground facility in the world on a frequency near 10 meters. That was at the
bottom of a sunspot cycle and about 9 pm local time when the band was
totally shut down.
