Brian, you have two choices here:

1) Ignore the ALC. (more than 80% of the people I know don't use the ALC
connection, including myself.)

2) Send the Quadra to me.  I'll use it with my TS-2000 which has ALC
output and you won't have to worry about it anymore. <grin>
