[Elecraft] Smoke Generator on KPA100

Arriving at step 4 on page 43 of the KPA 100 manual "Turn on the K2. You 
should see the NOPAPS message as before, since no ..."  ...That's what I 
could read on the display. Even before checking the current draw, I could 
smell that the current was somewhat high - which was about 700mA more than 
without the PA, except for 
1. drinking one glass of french red wine
2. going to bed and next day:
3. looking at the area around T3 (because R10 has become black)
does anybody have any specific suggestions?
(Steps 1 & 2 will be performed in any case, hi)
