[Elecraft] Twitchy K2 output power...

Hi All-
Have any of you have ever noticed occasional, unpredictable changes in
output power as you are keying your K2s? My K2 (S/N 1599) exhibits this
phenomenon for no apparent reason. It occurs infrequently, but it never
totally disappears.
I'm pretty sure that the power changes are REAL ones (as verified by my
outboard TenTec Wattmeter), not just misbehaving led indicators on the K2
S/RF meter.
For example, occasionally as I'm keying in a QSO I'll notice that the LED RF
indicator has taken a sudden, erratic big dive from its original setting of
perhaps 5 to 10 watts, down to only 1 or 2 watts for no apparent reason. No
HI CUR warnings are ever seen as this happens, just a sudden big dip in
power output.
The problem is easily fixed by very SLIGHTLY tweaking (i.e. barely moving it
clockwise) of the POWER control. That action restores the original power
setting--and in fact often raises it beyond its original setting to an even
higher level.
The whole thing occurs randomly as far as I can tell, and shows up in both
CW as well as digital scrolling SSB modes, such as PSK, MFSK or RTTY. CW
signal reports indicate no clicking, drifting or other strangeness with the
CW signal at the other end of the QSO as this is occurring.
If anyone has seen this type of thing, or knows of a fix, I'd appreciate
hearing from you, either directly or via the reflector.
Tnx es 73.
