No, it was the use of fine RIT that I was saying was unnecessary.
Originally I planned to lock the TX frequency so I could use fine RIT to
manually tune in the signal. Then when I tried the macro I realised that
the AFC (now affecting receive only, with the TX locked) would do the job
of the RIT automatically. This has really solved a major annoyance for me.
You do lose a few words while the AFC locks on, but it's better than being
forced to use the standard filter all the time.
By the way, it seems that the new Ten-Tec Argo V's have a 20Hx Tx/Rx offset
all the time, from reports I'm seeing on their reflector...
