[Elecraft] K2 build question: R1 potentiometer seating CORRECTION

Brian,

Sorry I misunderstood what you were asking.....I was on the FRONT PANEL
potentiometers.....R1 on the control board only sits about half way
down...just make sure it is seated as far down as it will go and is flat in
that respect..

The leads of the pot are too big, near the pot "body," to fit through =
the=20
holes. This prevents seating the pot flat against the board.

Has anybody dealt with this problem?

please check the k2 manual errata sheet rev.  c item # 4 .." if the large
mounting tabs cannot be inserted into their holes, use a small file to
slightly reduce their width. "

I used a dremel tool with a flat disk and carefully removed some of the tab
so it would seat completely...make sure you remove it uniformly to the base
of the pot,  otherwise your knobs will end up slightly crooked on your front
panel...just be sure to triple check them before soldering..
