[Elecraft] 756PRO filters v. K2

According to Icom, the very sharp skirts of the DSP filters permit one
to tune close enough to a CW signal to detect the presence of
sidebands (clicks). With wider skirts you begin to hear the tone which
masks the clicks. That is why they offer the option of wider skirts on
the PRO-II.

The K2 certainly has superior dynamic range as documented by ARRL
tests. I am amazed however that some are apparently finding the simple
crystal lattice filter to have superior performance to IF DSP. I doubt
that anyone will be able to implement IF DSP at the low receive
current of the K2 (it was originally designed with battery operation
in mind) - at least not with current technology.

What are people doing A/B tests using for a speaker? I find the Icom
SP-20 makes a huge difference with the 756PRO audio quality (as
compared to its internal top-firing speaker) and I used it (as well as
the same antenna) for A/B comparisons with the K2.
