[Elecraft] K2 vs TS-2000 (etc.) receiver

Considering what I paid for the PRO, I would feel better if I could report
your findings, too, but it just hasn't been true. Even with all the
passband options, etc., the K2 has still been able to out-hear the PRO on
quite a few occasions. Usually, they're very close, but when one outdoes
the other... so far the winner has always been the K2.
I've been a ham for 51 years, owned dozens of the best radios available and
spent nearly 15 years in the ham radio business. A new radio doesn't easily
impress me. I am quite happy with both the PRO and K2. I am a very happy
and impressed K2 owner but NOT one of the many "fanatic" mojo-overcome
owners. In fact, that's the first time I've ever used the "m-j" word.
As I say, they're both great radios, so enjoy what works for you.

between the K2 and the 756PRO. Never was I able to copy a signal on the K2
that I couldn't copy on the PRO (nor did the PRO ever copy a signal that the
K2 couldn't hear). Often times the selection of filters and pass band tuning
available in the PRO permitted copy to be more comfortable. On the other
hand, I likely never had signals on the band that were so strong as to
overload the front end of either. No doubt the K2 would win out in that
situation.
