[Elecraft] A "nice-to-have" for the K1/K2...

You know, (Doh!) your interface gave me an idea.

I have a couple different mics I'd like to use with my K2, an Icom HM-36
that requires the 5v and a Heil BM-10 boomset that I can wire like an Icom
but it apparently doesn't like the 5 v and a Yaesu that requires a
completely different header altogether. However, it's just too 'painful' to
change the internal mic header plug everytime you want to simply change
mics.

I haven't looked for any potential routing problems but why couldn't you
extend the mic configuration plug using ribbon cable (or multiconductor
shielded wire) to a DB-9 mounted in one of the spare data connector holes in
the back of the K2. Thus you could easily access/change the internal mic
configuration plug via different DB-9 'mic headers' configured for different
mics.

Think there might be stray RF concerns?
