[Elecraft] kat100 question

I have noticed two things with the kat100 after giving it a good workout
this weekend.
1. sometimes when pressing tune on the k2 only the 20 will display and
the tuner will not kick it even though the swr indicated on the kat100
is at least 5-1. moving the freq up a khz or two will cause the kat100
to kick in when the tune button is pressed.
2.the ant1/ant2 indicator lights were changing but I could not hear the
internal relay switch and I was receiving sigs on both antenna inputs
even thought I only had one connected. Again hitting the tune button
caused the internal relay in the kat100 to start working again.
is this a possible glitch or am I doing another duhhhh?
otherwise its working great with respect to the few times the above
occurred. The antenna connected to the rig was a twin sloper for 160/80
and 40m.
