We're always thinking ahead. If we ever add any goodies to the KAT100, you'll be
able to easily upgrade your existing unit.

The PIC we used, the 16F877, has 256 bytes of EEPROM on-chip, so the 25LC320
EEPROM is not needed at present. But it's there if we ever need more storage space.
