Hi

The general tool is a bit expensive for this use ($20) but there are cheaper
versions made in Taiwan or China that only cost $2 or $3 that would be fine
for this emergency use. Put one in the glove box on on your keychain.

The orginal Question that started this thread was about how do you cut a run
on a 6 layer board. Well there are several methods but the one I used is:

First you need a good print of the artwork then you need to find a place
where the run does not have any other runs above or below it. Then using a
drill press carefully drill through the board cutting the run. Then fill the
hole with epoxy. Once the run is cut run a wirewrap wire to the pads that
need to be connected on either the top or bottom of the board. We would use
a tiny bit of epoxy to hold the wire to the board in one or two places. I
now use tiny dabs hot melt glue to hold the wire in place as it is easier to
work with.
