Exactly.  I was thinking of rework after deployment of the first D2 VTRs
from AMPEX - nothing like having to do trace cuts in the middle of an eight
layer PCB somewhere in armpit province, China.

The experience with banjo wires & Klingons was with SONY kit.  Their
consumer stuff was better built & looked cleaner inside than five-digit pro
Betascam stuff.
