The mods are my handiwork, too. I've had a couple of anxious moments
performing mods on my K2, and it's a shame they don't look as neat as the
original article, but they are part and parcel of owning a ham radio to me.
Back in the 70s when I was first licensed and radios were built mostly
using discrete components, there was hardly a rig I owned I didn't modify
or tweak in some way. At least, with the K2, I can now perform mods that
come with the designers' seal of approval!

It's obvious that some will NEVER understand that much of the pride for
most K2 builders is showing off your unadulterated handiwork!!!
I've received a lot of comments, pro and con, both direct and posts to
the Elecraft reflector, regarding my earlier post about the mods and how
I feel about what they do to the appearance of the inside of the radio.
Most of the comments agree with my opinion, which is why I said "pride
for MOST K2 builders is showing off their unadulterated handiwork" in the
above paragraph.
