[Elecraft] Is it just me ?

Is it just me that's reading all the messages about modifications and
wondering if I should do them as well ?
Bought my K2 about 2 years ago, serial #1192, followed the manual and ended
up with a beautifull litlle transceiver.
Mind you, I had been absent from amateur-radio for a decade and I wanted to
master the Morse code after umpteen attemps to do so. The rig was ready to
go way before I was able to take my cw-exam, guess that was a very good
motivation to keep on practicing. Anyhow, made the test, coupled up the K2
to a 2x10m dipole and had a contact to every continent on the globe within 2
weeks ! This may not sound very impressing to most of the people on this
Reflector, but I was, and are to this day, very proud of it !
How do I feel about theElecraft company ? They are honest and eager to
listen to their customers. Ever trying to get the best product they can
produce, which is just my predicament: I was happy with the K2 ( and K1) as
it was, made 1 (one) ssb qso and got a good, unsollicited, report back.
So, is it just me that's happily trundling along with an unmodified K2 and
reaching out all over the globe ?
73' Leo.
PS: after my civilian techncal school I was instructed to solder "the proper
way" by a seargent-major of the Signal Regiment. Each time one of us made a
bad joint he told us a story of an infantry-platoon, destroyer or airplane
gone astray or missing.
