[Elecraft] FT-100 knob

Bob,
Did you break out the pin proturding centrally in the shaft hole on the
knob? A sideways press with a small screwdriver snaps the pin off, and
the knob should fit well.

At least that's how I recall it about 1 year ago...

I just mounted one of those really cool FT-100 knobs
on my K2, but noticed that the whole thing seems to
protrude a bit far out from an aesthetic standpoint.

Question: What has experience dictated to be the best
way to trim - I'm thinking about 1/8" - from the optical
encoder shaft? Again, I'm thinking hacksaw, but I'd like
some suggestions before I go sawbones on my rig.

By the way, I really think Wayne and Eric should make
that knob or something like it Standard Issue for the K2.
It definitely gives you that "big rig" tuning feel when you
have a knob with some inertia...

Thanks and 73,
