[Elecraft] Re: Using Spectrogram 7.1

There are no radical changes in Spectrogram 7.1 that would prevent someone
familiar with previous versions from using it.
The only difference was that for some reason 7.1 now inverts the 'Y'
amplitude scale from previous versions. So instead of '0' amplitude being
labled say, -60dB (depending on the range you select) it now begins at 0dB
with the top of the scale reflecting the range (e.g. +60dB).
Hope that made sense but it's only a minor annoyance. Just pick a max
amplitude (say, 60dB) and adjust the AF/RF gain to some arbritary level
below that (i.e. +40dB). All measurements thereafter are relative to that
initial 'baseline'. The fundamental on screen plotting of the filter
characteristics will otherwise look identical to previous versions.
The (IMHO slight) advantage of 7.1 over previous versions is it allows
signal averaging over time. Setting the value high (e.g. in tens of seconds)
reduces any 'transient' errors and smooths the plot considerably resulting
in a more 'asthetically pleasing' view of the filter curve.
