[Elecraft] A couple of questions

Hi

If you are getting a frequency shift of the CW tone when the bandwidth is=
 changed then the problem is most likely the alignment of the filters. Th=
e BFO mod vastly improves the drift with temperature of the filters but y=
ou can still have the frequency shift if the filters are not set up right=
. =20

I would go back over the filter setup with Spectrogram for now but in my =
opinion the VFO and BFO mods are a must do for all K2's with a serial num=
bers under 3000. =20

I was interested in the comment by Allen, KA5N, that replacing the filter
crystals and doing the BFO mod solved the problem of the beat note changi=
ng
when switching bandwidths. I'm still troubled by this problem, which
discourages me from using narrow bandwidths when working PSK, but I can't
see why this mod would solve this particular problem, unless it's just a
matter of luck.
