[Elecraft] Another Firmware Thought

With the recent discussions about VCO and BFO drift, and the resulting
display error with temperature (or time?), I looked over at my ancient Drake
gear.
It has a feature where you tune in a signal to the correct indicated
frequency (WWV, calibrator?) then hold a slip ring while you tune the radio
to zero beat.
Since the display on the K2 is essentially an electronic dial, it might be
nice to have a similar feature, perhaps as one of the CAL routines.
It would operate as follows:
1) Tune in the calibration signal to the desired (correct?) frequency
display.
2) Invoke the new CAL function (CAL diSP ?).
3) Tune the signal to "zero beat."
4) Escape from the CAL function.
Your K2 will now apply the offset determined by the above process to your
display.
This lets you calibrate against, say, WWV any time you want to...
Thinking out loud (always dangerous!),
