[Elecraft] Filter plots

Hi,
Here is a little trick I use to see how my filter plots associate
with each other. Probably a bit academic, but could be of interest?
I save each plot using Spectrogram, and then print the CW filters on the
same side of a piece of printer paper so they all overlay each other. I do
the same for the likes of the OP1 filters for USB and LSB.
You could do it for any combination of filters.
By doing that, and having the "marker" in the appropriate place for each
plot (ie 500hz for USB/LSB and your side tone freq for the CW plots) it is
a cinch to see how the different filters look, and you can see just how
much your narrower filters might be attenuating the signal.
The USB/LSB overlaid plots will also show if you have the respective
filters pretty much the same, which theoretically should make you "sound"
the same on both. (?)
Note : I don't use this method to get the CW filters "sounding the same
between steps". There is plenty of info floating around on the actual
filter alignment without me adding my methods!
Cheers.....Ron ZL1TW
