Hi

If the lid is only affecting the 4.000MHz oscillator you are correct. I d=
o the cal with the lid off and It does not seem to affect the VFO. Howeve=
r the bottom plate is another story. It must be in place with all of the =
screws in place or the VFO will shift when it is installed. It will also =
affect the calibration of the filters.

This implies that I could do the whole process of setting the 4 MHz oscil=
lator
and doing CAL PLL and CAL FIL with the lid off.  =20

I've noticed that putting the lid on affects the frequency a bit, so I fi=
nd
myself struggling to adjust the oscillator so it will be right when I put=
 the
lid back on!  =20

Does anyone disagree with this?
