Excellent question, Trev!

I've had the SSB module for two years and never caught that. But that's what
it says, "The Carrier Balance mode ... can also be used with headphones to
listen to mic audio whenever the mic gain or compression level is changed."

I have always used an external receiver to check my audio. Being able to do
it like the SSB Module Book says would be very nice!
