I'd be interested to know of any ROBUST ceramic tools. I've never found any.
I still have a few ceramic E.F. Johnson screwdriver tools around that they
provided for tuning up their 900 MHz Land Mobile repeaters, but those things
chip and break at the SLIGHTEST provocation.

I do have a large set of various plastic hex tools for slugs etc., and can't
see any detuning effects from the plastic when using them. Some came from
Radio Shack and other places. Others are "refugees" that have outlasted the
Heathkits they came with lo' these many years ago.

Another very handy tool  for solenoid coils is a wand that has an iron slug
on one end and a brass slug on the other. The iron increases the inductance
and the brass decreases the inductance. So simply bringing one end then the
other near the coil tells me if it is already right on "peak" without having
to touch the adjustment. Unfortunately, that doesn't work with those
"torroid toroids" though.
