[Elecraft] FT-100 Tuning Knob

I don't know about the firmware, I do know that the FT-100 knob has a much 
nicer edge feel (soft) and a finger indent.  Some folks achieve that by 
drilling holes or putting rubber bands from broccoli on the original K-2 
knob.  I paid over $800 for my K-2 - I didn't think a $15 knob (including 
postage) was the time to cheap out and start experimenting.  The FT-100 
knob looks good, feels good and is well balanced.  Each to his own, but the 
original knob is just too spartan for me - like putting combat boots on a 
$500 an hour super model.
